Your First Visit

  • Patient Forms

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

  • Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

  • Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

  • X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

  • Report of Findings

Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:● How can you help me?● How often do I need to come in?● What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Eric Dzwonkowski will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.

  • Treatment

At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.

    Wellness Program

Before you leave, your doctor may recommend a personalized wellness plan to support your care outside the office. This can include guidance on using ice or heat, activities to avoid, and simple exercises or stretches to do at home. If you choose, our wellness team can also help you build healthy habits and routines that fit your lifestyle. Because every patient is unique, each wellness plan is customized to support proper spinal alignment, healthy movement, balanced nutrition, and a positive mindset.

Payment Options

Journey Chiropractic is committed to making quality chiropractic care accessible for individuals and families.

We offer flexible pricing, accept most insurance plans, and work with auto accident and workers’ compensation cases. For patients with limited or no coverage, affordable payment options are available. Call our Denver office to learn more—our friendly team is happy to help.

  • Most insurance plans are accepted at our chiropractic office. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury cases that have resulted in back pain, neck pain, headaches, or other related pain conditions. We also accept most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Because there are so many insurance plans out there, and because coverage for chiropractic care varies widely, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Before you start a chiropractic care plan, our staff would be happy to verify your benefits and explain them to you at no charge.

  • Our goal at Journey Chiropractic is to allow everyone to experience the benefits of chiropractic care and adjustments. For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, we can work with you to arrange a flexible payment program that fits your budget. If you have no insurance or if your insurance does not have any chiropractic benefits, there are still ways for you to receive the pain relief and chiropractic care that you need. Many patients choose to pay directly for their visits with the chiropractor, especially as they discover that chiropractic care is actually extremely cost-effective and affordable. For these patients, chiropractic care is often cheaper and more effective than alternative pain treatments such as pain medications or invasive surgery.

  • Our focus at Journey Chiropractic is to actively help you and your family in taking responsibility for your total health, wellness, and disease management. Our chiropractor will assist and guide you as you take the time to care for some of the most important people in your world: you and your family. In an effort to make living the wellness lifestyle as easy and affordable as possible, we can create a customized family chiropractic plan that is specific to you and your family.

  • At Journey Chiropractic in Denver, we believe staying healthy and pain-free doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money. Our team is here to help you protect your most valuable asset—your health. Preventive chiropractic care is far easier and more affordable than treating pain or injury after it occurs. If time or cost feels like a barrier, please reach out—we’re here to help. Our goal is to support your health before problems arise, so you can continue living life at your best.

//Laying the foundation for total health

What to Expect

Chiropractic care is like building a house—your body needs a strong foundation before everything else can work properly. If foundational issues aren’t addressed first, true healing and long-term health can’t be achieved.

1

Phase 1: Relief Care

Many people go to a chiropractor because they are in pain. In this first phase of care, the main goal is to reduce your symptoms. Sometimes this will require daily visits, or two to three visits per week for a time.
Most people are under the assumption that if they don't feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.
For example, think of a cavity or heart disease—symptoms often don’t appear until the problem becomes more advanced. The same is true for many conditions, including spinal issues. Pain is usually the last symptom to show up, and with chiropractic care, it’s often the first to fade, even while deeper healing is still taking place.

2

Phase 2: Corrective/ Restorative Care

Most chiropractors regard the elimination of symptoms as the easiest part of a persons care. If all that the chiropractor does is to reduce the pain and stop there, the chances of the condition recurring are much greater. In order to prevent a rapid recurrence of symptoms, it is necessary to continue receiving care even though your symptoms are gone.
During this phase, visits are less frequent, and you may begin guided exercises or stretches at the clinic or at home to support healing and speed recovery.
Occasional mild flare-ups are normal during this phase and nothing to worry about, as your body is still healing. This stage may last from a few months to a couple of years, depending on your condition and how long symptoms have been present.

3

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Maintenance is Key to Healthy Living
Once your body has fully healed, routine chiropractic care can help ensure that your physical problems do not return, and keep your body in optimal condition. Just like continuing an exercise program and eating well in order to sustain the benefits of exercise and proper diet, it is necessary to continue chiropractic care to ensure the health of your musculoskeletal system.

When you make routine chiropractic care a part of your lifestyle, you avoid many of the aches and pains that so many people suffer through, your joints will last longer and you will be able to engage in more of the activities you love.
